When it comes to spices, Lior Lev Sercarz is the guy. The best of the best. A revolutionary. A master spice blender and owner of the legendary La Boîte spice company in New York City, Lior's custom blends are a thing of dreams for big-deal chefs, at-home cooks and anyone in between who loves to eat and drink.

We'd love for you to meet Lior at a private event at Cardinal Spirits just for our food and beverage friends. We recently collaborated with Lior on our Terra Botanical Gin, and now we'd like to introduce him to other equally passionate makers who are giving the Midwest food and drink scene its edge.

Here's the plan:

- Spice blending demo and presentation from Lior. He'll answer the question everyone has after sticking their nose in a tin of one of his blends, or tasting a dish that has been seasoned with his spices: How does he do it? Secrets revealed! Knowledge bombs dropped! Minds blown! But also: Practical advice.

- Small bites and cocktails prepared with Lior's spices served throughout.

- Book signing for Lior's latest book, The Spice Companion, a magnificent, beautiful, keep-it-forever guide to more than 100 spices and how to use them in incredible ways.

- Tour of Cardinal Spirits distillery.

Notable chefs across the country consider Lior their go-to spice guy because he sources the best spices in the world and combines them like no one else does (Lior himself was a sous chef for Daniel Boulud before opening La Boîte). His spices coat the brisket at Momofuku Ssäm Bar. He has spice collaborations with Eric Ripert of Le Bernardin, and he created a custom spice blend for one of Brooklyn Brewery's beers. Our gin was his first work for a spirit.
